pen.100• The Peninsula High freshman football team gearing up for a big year.

Peninsula High’s freshman football team is off to an undefeated start this year.
After beating Rosemead High in the season opener, the freshman went on to beat El Segundo High, Culver City High, Torrance High and North Torrance High.
The team is led by head coach Larry Campbell, who always reminds his team to play for each other and to keep fighting no matter what.
The strong words got his team to 5-0 and ready to take on the Bay League.
The Panthers have some talented athletes that have made a major impact on the field this year. Quarterback and safety Quinn Massey has been a key player on both sides of the ball.
pen.250The running back duo of James Punsalan and Jared Hughes has been a dynamic force for the Panthers all season. Peninsula opened some eyes this season when they bested North Torrance, considered one of the strongest teams in the South Bay, but Peninsula rode a strong first half to a 43-18 victory.
Bay League will present challenges for the freshmen, with strong competition. Palos Verdes, Redondo Union and Mira Costa will be tough, but the Peninsula freshmen feel ready to make some noise in Bay League and go on to a perfect 10-0.
