2018 Ticktockers Honored
• National Charity League, Inc., Palos Verdes Chapter celebrated its Ticktocker class of 2018 at its annual Senior Recognition event at Terranea Resort.
The signature event recognizes the cumulative efforts and accomplishments of graduating Ticktockers and their mothers.
“This celebration honors the mother-daughter bond and recognizes what we can accomplish together for the good of the community,” said Christine Myrick, Palos Verdes Chapter President. “It is an especially important milestone for our senior Ticktockers. Through community service, leadership development, and cultural experiences, they have grown into strong women who will continue to serve and positively impact communities into the future.”
“This year’s theme was Unwritten,” said Catalina Murray, President, 2018 Ticktocker Class. “It is up to us to shape our futures and I know I am better equipped after my journey with NCL. I am stronger, more confident, and definitely more aware of needs within my community. I know my future will include community service because it’s now a part of who I am.”
The Ticktockers’ six-year commitment included hands-on work with 33 philanthropies in the South Bay and greater Los Angeles area such as Peace4Kids, Friendship Foundation, 
Toberman Neighborhood Center, Boys and Girls Club of L.A. Harbor, Palos Verdes Education Fund, Palos Verdes Land Conservancy, Heal the Bay, Valmonte Early Learning Academy, and more. This past year, the chapter donated 10,100 hours of service.
National Charity League, Inc., Palos Verdes Chapter currently has 315 members and provides hands-on volunteer service for 33 philanthropic organizations in the community. Members are women and their daughters in grades 7-12. Through this community service, NCL, Inc. develops socially responsible community leaders and strengthens the mother-daughter relationship. The traditional six-year core program also includes leadership development and cultural activities.
Established in Los Angeles in 1925, and incorporated in 1958, National Charity League, Inc. is the premier mother-daughter organization of women and their daughters in grades 7-12. Currently the membership organization has 65,000 members in 242 Chapters that thrive in 26 states. — email reports
