• The Palos Verdes High girls’ soccer team is looking good early and will face Peninsula High today at home.

Palos Verdes High School girls’ soccer kicked off the season with a 6-0 winning streak against some formidable opponents.
The Sea Kings squared off in their opening match against San Pedro High School with a well-orchestrated performance of eight goals and a shutout.


The team set the tone for what looks to be a dominating season outclassing their opponents on both offense and defense. PV’s offense is a juggernaut outscoring all opponents with a combined goal total of 39.
Natalia Huntington, forward for the SeaKings, was awarded player of the match against the Beverly Hills Normans with a performance that included a score and two assists. PV went on to win against the Normans, 3-1.


Sophia Kwon received the player of the game against the Sacred Heart Cardinals with two goals and two assists. The team went on to overtake the Cardinals with an amazing 19 goals scored.
Other girls giving notable performances included Michala Fairchild, Ava Yang and keeper Sophia Rodriguez. Rodriguez has only allowed two goals in over 7 games.


PV met its match against the West Torrance Warriors with a 1-2 loss. With a struggling defense, the offense was unable to find its groove until late in the game.
The girls’ soccer team is looking to bounce back against cross town rival Peninsula Panthers on Saturday at home. Game time is 11a.m.
